I normally wouldn’t post this to my art/professional blog, but right now it’s a little explanation on why I may not be so active for a bit. Little kitten is just like a real baby. It cries , it’s fussy and needs to be fed every hour. He’s very verbal. Good news is he pees ok. Bad news is I am exhausted. I love this little baby dearly, but don’t know if I can stamina wise keep up this schedule. for now I’ll do my best.

arielxmog asked: For the moogle as a winebottle label, I love the third one :D

thank you :D thats the one I was gearing towards as well! (the purple bars being the colour of the wings) I wasn’t sure if I should call it “MOG” rather then moogle. these are all just test runs ;)

thank you so much for your feedback! :)

I have the A.D.D of a rabbit on speed. aka I tend to dive into many other projects at once while working on other stuff. If you follow my twitter (lotus_lion) today I came up with a brainfart- make some Vid’ya game wine lables as parodies! this is a concept for one of the (many) FF ones I plan on making. (hint; the clue to what game it is, is in the title!) I’m unsure of which one to use so feedback is appreciated! :3

I’m breaking a personal rule (which is not to post outside stuff), but I feel it is a good one to break it with.
On the outside I do silent freelance. I do the boring, gray jobs of industrial design. This is the stuff where your name is never attached and the chances of anyone asking “Who designed that?” are negligibly low. This is not to say they are bad jobs, but that they carry a certain quality. This stuff trickles down through word-of-mouth and fast jobs, emergency document graphics and logos done by moonlight.
I had no hand in this graphic but I feel it is a good one to chew on. When it comes to pricing design work it seems everyone has their own method (and this can break out of just design, which is why I’m putting it here). You have design firms that charge no less then $4,000 for corporate identity (or 150,000 for the big guys). You have the $50 guys for moms and pops. You have the friend of a friend of a friend that will do it for a coffee. You might end up being each of those people. Ultimately the amount you charge for your work will be your own influenced by the many facets shown in the graphic.
“It took me a few seconds to draw it, but it took me 34 years to learn how to draw it in a few seconds.” Paula Scher.

Everything about this. People need to learn that you can’t have quality cost and time rolled into one. You can only pick two.

Fire Lion finished design!
I limited its pallet (3 colours) because I may be getting t-shirts of these made. If there any interest. Give a <3, shout-out or a re-blog if that’s the case :3

Very rarely I post WIP’s (works in progress) it seems for whatever reason when I share I get less reaction then if I just unveil a fully finished piece. Ah well, this one I just couldn’t keep secret. I know the concept has been done before- but this is my own take on such. It’s just in its sketch phase while I am trying to work out the look (hence the no upper canines and two different eyes XP)

Watermark design done for my friend Kristin for her folio. The idea was hers- to somehow incorporate the aspects of herself (shes a professional Oboe/English horn player!) and her site (field-of-reeds.net) all into one. The reeds of the nile, music and of course stars!

Milk & Honey Baking Co. Menu Design. For those that remember a little while back I created a logo for my friend Dawn and her Husband’s baking company. They have been open for 2 weeks now and a proper menu design was in order. The funny thing is I sought out originally to edit some stock and put it together in illustrator. I decided to go a full 8 hours further and do it up awesome in Photoshop for a change of pace. All textures are from stock as is the wheat. all else was rendered in PS from scratch.
The menu itself will rotate each week with specials.

“Bees & Trees” a quick flier/tear away done for Foxfeather for her kickstarter project. Fox is currently trying to raise money to keep bees on her farm which will in turn pollinate local plants and she is working to restore native plants and trees. If your interested in this project please check out her website, and She is offering things such as cool pendants and artwork in exchange for your pledge!
